Rosch started learning music at the tender age of 9 and joined his hometown Dudelange's "Harmonie Municipale" playing clarinet. As a teenager, however, he considered drumming more "cool", especially as it allowed him to replace the drummer in a club accompanying the striptease acts. Growing up, though, made him go back to the clarinet (maybe because it is easier to carry round?), and deepen his musical knowledge. Apart from having been the "Chef" of the Biwer, Bour, Mensdorf and Olingen bands (not all at once, of course), he was the MVBB band leader until 2005, and he still conducts the "Upbeat Concert Band" and the "Réimecher Musek". He has lent his excellent clarinet skills to many bands, where, more often than not, he gets carried away by his Italian temperament (and a couple of bubbly?) to unexpected musical (and even linguistic!) experiments.

Born in Luxembourg 16/8/1957, it was only 9 years later when Guy choose to enter the world of music as an active part of it. He got his first trumpet in 1968 while he was (and he still is) in the trumpet register of the "Harmonie Municipale of Bettembourg". He also tried out his vocal chords as a singer in "The Studio Band" from 1975 to 1982. He joined the Brass Band in 1982. Over the years his relation to the band has constantly improved, so that now, he just could not imagine life without it!

Harpes Christian

Harpes ChristianElectric Bass

Being 7 years old, Christian began to play Trumpet. As he become older and bigger he changed to bigger instruments too, which are the Euphonium (Tuba) and the Bass-guitar. After an amazing career in Rock-Pop business during the 90's and the 2000' years where he played together with famous bands and artists like Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Mike and the Mechanics, Fish, Ezio....... he decided to concentrate now more on Brass Band Music. After the departure of the former bass guitar player of the Moselle Valley Brass Band he changed from Euphoniumplayer to Bassguitarplayer. Christian continues playing both instruments in the Harmonie of Esch-Alzette. (Link: harmoniemunicipaleesch.org)

Origer Raoul

Origer RaoulTuba

Raoul, also called Rudi by the members of the Brass Band, is born the 14th of January 1980 in Luxembourg. For the time, he is the youngest Tubaplayer in the Band. When he was nine, he began studying trumpet and one year later he played, until now in the harmonie of Beckerich. At the age of sixteen he changed the instrument and has chosen the Tuba because it was in need of this instrument in the harmonie and in several other musician bands where he plays today. In 2005 he played for the first time in the Moselle Valley Brass Band and he loved until today to have had the chance to be a member of this amazing Band.

Pierrard Ernest

As a youngster, Ernie started as a pianist in dance bands and double bass player in jazz combos. His career as insurance broker compelled him to temporarily drop all music. Moving to the small village of Olingen, however, sparked his passion again, and he joined the local music band after some initial struggling with … the saxophone. In the end, tenor, barytone and alto sax no longer had secrets for him. He even helped out on the bassguitar for a while. As several collegues of the “Ouljer Musek” (the village band’s name) already played in the Moselle Valley Brass Band, it seemed only natural that Ern joined their ranks in 1993. After retiring from the insurance business, he went back to his first love, jazz, and improved his skills at the music schools of Esch/Alzette and Echternach. On the bassguitar, he performs regularly with two other pals in the “Trio Renergie”. A gifted actor, he has discovered himself a second passion, and has become the driving force behind the local band’s theatre group

Schroeder Raym

Schroeder RaymTrumpet

Raym's greatest love in life is music, but it took him quite a while to discover that. He did start playing the trumpet in his local "Ouljer Musek" band as a boy of 9, but lost all musical interest at the age of 19. During 12 long years he tried, with some success, to improve his skills as a table tennis player. Having to work in shifts as well, did not encourage him to make a new start as a musician. It took all the persuasive skills of Pit Kieffer, the conductor of the Ouljer Musek in 1995, to lure Raym back to the trumpet. And he has never been without it since. Equipped with enough talent and envy for those playing better than himself, he has improved his skills over the years. As he is playing in a couple of bands now, and regularly being asked to help out in others, music now occupies most of his leisure time - when he is not partying!

Steffes Jo

Steffes JoTrumpet

Stepping into his dad's (also a trumpet player) footsteps, Jo made an early start into the world of music. His local "Ouljer Musek" gave 8 year old Jo a cornet, and he started practising. Music lessons in Mensdorf, Junglinster, Grevenmacher and finally at the Luxembourg city Conservatoire turned him into a fine musician. On the way, he abandoned the cornet, and received his first trumpet. Apart from being the 1st trumpet ( and second "chef" and committee member!) of the Ouljer Musek and the Brass band, he also played in the prize winning "Lux Brass" and the "Friends of Brass" quintet.
